How Come My Best Stuff . . .

Gets Me Into the Most Trouble?
Ever ask yourself that question? Ever do something truly creative and
new? Solve a problem no one else had been able to solve? Present your
insight with innocent enthusiasm and encounter a storming black hole:
"That's not the way we do things around here. What's wrong with
you?"
The answer is:" Nothing." You're an independent, creative
thinker in an artificial, unnatural system in which people's greatest
talents become their primary liabilities. This site and the book, Meaning:
The Secret of Being Alive, explain why and how we came to this -
and bring the good news: Things are changing.
Ever since the 17th century of Descartes and Newton, western cultures
have revered the material over the spiritual. We have put form and process
over purpose and intent, effects over essential causes. Our world has been
dominated by those who seek to perpetuate the status quo, which means
rejecting those who pursue new possibilities. But now, we've embarked on a
journey away from the traditional normative view of life, We're moving
toward a new integrative view. This website is dedicated to advancing
understanding of this transformation.
Signs of it are all around us - concern with systems, with ecology,
holistic health, spiritual psychology, calls to fundamentally redesign our
educational system, even new views of business. We are seeing the
emergence of a new type of human being who intuitively knows why he or she
is here and is continuously guided by that personal purpose. Sure, the old
world is still around us, and it tosses such people into the fire pit. But
they can come out whole if they understand the basic dynamics behind the
old insanity. . At its core, this transformation is about a new view of
life, a new perception of reality. The traditional view, the normative
one, sees life primarily as separated parts - an antagonistic, material,
mechanical existence. The emerging view, the "integrative", sees
life as a connected and mutually beneficial spiritual existence - a road
to unity. To describe it in terms a physicist might use, the normative
person sees life as matter. The integrative person sees it as energy. The
old view is attempting to sustain itself by treating the emerging one as
deviant, perverse and diseased. We are still at the stage where pioneers
of the integrative view are scorned, belittled and abused, often leaving
them feeling they are deficient. But in truth, it's the traditional system
that's deficient.
This site has two main elements. One is the book,
Meaning - The Secret of Being Alive. It answers the
question, "How Come My Best Stuff Gets me Into the Most
Trouble?" once and for all. The second is the Community
for Spirit section. It provides other resources, books and links that
exemplify the emerging view of reality - the road to unity.
